Who We Are…
The Family Tree Garden Center is located at 1983 Main Street East in Snellville, Georgia, and is family-owned and operated. We have more than 5-acres of high-quality landscaping plants and houseplants, plus home decorations and unique gifts in our beautiful gift shop. Our sales staff is knowledgeable and here to help you with any of your plant and gardening questions.
We stock plants that will grow successfully in and around the Atlanta, Georgia area (USDA Zones 7b-8a), and we pride ourselves on offering hard-to-find varieties that you may not find at other stores. Our buyer only orders the highest quality plants from the best growers in the business, so you can shop and plant with confidence!
Dana Pike-Van Vlake, Owner & President
How It Started…
In the spring of 2010, Dana Pike-Van Vlake and Jeff Van Vlake opened The Family Tree Garden Center on Hwy. 78 in Snellville. The property was near and dear to their hearts, as it was previously home to one of the early stores run by Dana's father, Pete Pike (founder of the original Pike Nurseries).
A few years after the Pike family sold the company, Dana and Jeff felt drawn back to the garden business, so when the Snellville property became available, they couldn't pass up the opportunity to start their own garden legacy with a single store, The Family Tree Garden Center. Inside the store, you will also find the Pete Pike Museum, honoring the life and legacy of Dana's beloved parents, Pete and Jerri. We look forward to seeing you here!

We understand that where you choose to shop for your plants is a choice, so we strive to provide you with the highest quality plants, along with the expert knowledge you need to succeed with your planting and landscaping goals.
Our staff consists of a team of trained Horticulturists, Landscape Architects, Landscape Designers, and Georgia Certified Plant Professionals. So, when you need some gardening advice or have a plant question, our knowledgeable staff will actually know the answer!

Knowledgeable Staff
Most of our sales associates hold a professional degree in horticulture, landscape design, or have earned a Georgia Certified Plant Professionals (GCPP) certificate from the UGA Center for Urban Agriculture. This high-level program is specifically designed for plant professionals who work in the retail garden center industry. Those who hold the GCPP certificate have proven their understanding of professional gardening practices, extensive plant knowledge, and disease identification. The Family Tree Garden Center is proud of our knowledgeable and friendly staff members!
